With the issuance of this Record of Decision (ROD), the Department announces that the action to be implemented is the acquisition of approximately 13,003.89 acres in trust for the Oneida Indian Nation of New York under the Preferred Alternative (Alternative I), as modified. This decision is based on the Department’s review of the Draft EIS, the Final EIS comments received from the public, Federal agencies, State agencies, local governmental entities, and potentially affected Indian tribes, and the applicable statutory and regulatory criteria for acquiring title to lands in trust status.
